In the past decade, music industry has been growing dramatically in Iran. The millennials are gradually finding their voice back in the socially and politically tightened society and are using art and music to express their opposition.
Headphone recording studio is where young underground musicians and artists meet, gather and work together to reconcile the forgotten forbidden melodies around the city. The underground headphone listeners come together, take off their headphones and bring the music back to their city.
The site is located on Enghelab St.; the socio cultural heart of Tehran. The fast paced compact urban texture of Enghelab St. is relieved by the Headphone studio landscape that allows a moment to pause and gather.
