DOUBLE IDENTITY

DOUBLE IDENTITY

Double Identity is the exit review (thesis project) for my masters degree at Knowlton School of Architecture at The Ohio State University. My exit review talk was selected as one of the top four talks between the 2016 graduates.

In Double Identity, I talk about my personal experiences from my home country, Iran that have shaped my vision of architecture.

By analyzing a modern Piece of architecture called “The prayer room” by Kamran Diba, a contemporary Villa called “Darvishabad Villa” by Pouya Khazaeli, and with the help of the plot of a movie called “Elly”, by Asghar Farhadi, I explain the complex socio-political atmosphere of Iran, how this atmosphere shapes the double identities of its citizens, how the collective memory has shaped the architecture of Iran and how my dual identity has shaped me into the young architect I am today. Please below, find the video of my talk on Youtube.
